We haven't updated this page in a while but we plan on making some new additions and updating previous photo's.
Welcome to what will probably be our most visited page. We just recently created this section so please bear with us as we develop it in much greater detail. We
will endeavour to make it as thorough, detailed and accurate as is
humanly possible. Please be patient as we will initially be putting up
basics and then adding greater detail in the weeks and months ahead.
This is not an easy undertaking and will take time. You can expect to see (in no particular order).
*how veneers are glued together and pressed
*how a handle and forearm are joined
*how a joint pin is installed
*how a cue is drilled and tapped
*how the butt sleeve is attached
*how rings are made, cut and installed
*how shafts and butts are turned
*how a tenon is cut to accept the ferrule and tip
*how the proper tip is selected
*how a wrap is put on
*how a cue is finished and what materials are used
*how inlays are done
*how a wooden collar is made
*and, much, much more!
We're going to do all that! Why did we start this! Oh well, we're in now.
We've started this section with the basic building of the forearm. This area will be improved with greater detail and additional photo's. It's a good beginning for the time being.
Also, please bear in mind that we have different techniques for doing many of the methods we will be featuring. Nothing is etched in stone and we can only do so much and make so much information available at a time. Please be patient as this will be the most comprehensive undertaking ever.
In conclusion, we are featuring our methods. Many cue builders utilize these methods and methods of their own as well. There are many methods of properly constructing a cue and each cue builder uses a method that works for them; it may not necessarily work for us or others and that does not make it right or wrong. Cue builders use whatever method works well for them.
We do hope you enjoy this area and if you have any questions, comments, concerns or thoughts please feel free to email us.
