Sanding & Adhesives

This product is specifically designed to install tips and has a 'rubber toughened" mixture which can withstand and absorb the shock of the 'hit'. Other epoxies and glues bond well but the glue cracks from the hit and therefore can cause premature debonding whereas the tip will pop off. The rubber toughened formula absorbs this impact and does not crack.

Now, for the best part... all rubber toughened cyanoacrylates are black in color. This is extremely messy to use but does work great. However, our formula is available in a clear mixture only!!! A great breakthrough for the tip installer.

These are offered as 1oz bottles. This is sufficient to do many, many tip installations.

These can be used wet or dry and serve every imaginable application. Here we are offering your choice of sanding strip grades.(Silicon Carbide)

They are available in 180, 220 , 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500 and 2000 grits.

These are great for touch-up work, blending finishes and doing ferrules and tips.

Each grade is sold as one 14' (fourteen foot) strip per package.

Each strip is 1" wide x 13.5' in length. This equates to 46 - 3.5" strips that you can cut into 3.5" strips or any length you like.

Cyanoacrylates (CAs) have become the adhesive of choice for many cue building applications. High quality CAs, when used properly, form bonds that in many cases are stronger than the material that is being adhered.

Our Cyanoacrylates are highly refined which, combined with its freshness, gives a guaranteed 2 year shelf life. There is no finer CA available.

A Word From Cue Components: We have used every product on the market and this CA is by far the finest for custom cue building. Our CA is highly refined and fresh, fresh, fresh. Our CA doesn't sit in the manufacturers warehouse and then sit on store shelves for months. Freshness is very important. Try it and see for yourself. If you are not 100% satisfied, just return the unused portion for a complete refund.

How To Use Cyanoacrylates

Heat and moisture will decrease the shelf life of CAs. Unopened bottles can be stored in a freezer or refrigerator, but allow them to reach room temperature before using. Keep your bottles in a cool place that won't be exposed to direct sunlight and store away from bottles of accelerators. Due to the freshness of our CAs, their shelf life is guaranteed for 24 months.

For the initial opening of the top, loosen and retighten the top first to relieve internal pressure, then hold the bottle against a near vertical surface and cut off the top 1/32" with a knife or razor blade without squeezing the bottle. To prevent clogging, do not let the tip of the nozzle touch a surface that has been sprayed with any Accelerator. Before replacing the colored cap, set the bottle down hard to knock the remaining CA back into the bottle before squeezing it in an upright position to blow air through the nozzle, then wipe the tip clean.

With all CAs, the closer the parts fit together, the stronger the bond. Always hold the bonding surfaces together as tightly as possible. Any rough spots on the mating surfaces should be smoothed out. Although CAs will hold objects together with considerable strength within seconds, the full strength of the bond is not reached for several hours. Allow for this before subjecting parts to maximum stress. Also, CAs are generally a little less brittle and have higher strength when they are allowed to cure on their own.

Insta-Set is a catalyst which acts as an accelerator that allows CA's to quickly cure in thick layers by enhancing the alkaline conditions during polymerization. Insta-Set in a spray bottle is normally used to cure the CA that flows from joints when parts are pressed together. Applying an additional bead of thick CA along the seam and then curing it with Insta-Set significantly enhances a joints strength. For difficult to bond materials, Insta-Set can be applied to one surface and CA to the opposite surface. When brought together, they will bond instantly. Insta-Set is formulated so that it activates the CA in 6-8 seconds without any significant degrading of the CA's strength (which can occur with many other accelerators). It is compatible with all surfaces.

This is much safer to use than regular Cyanoacrylates. It is 100% odorless and as such it does not let off the fumes and odor of other Cyanoacrylates. In fact, the thin is used by many cue makers to finish their cues. It provides an easy way to finish a cue quickly while providing a very hard finish. Of course you can use the regular thin Cyano but this is safer when using it on large areas.

Safety should always be exercised when working with any Cyanoacrylates. As always, use a good respirator.
