Well, here is a picture of Russ with a few of his cored fronts. One day, we told Russ to core some fronts just to give him something to do. He got lost and we didn't hear a peep or see him for about 4 days. Friday rolled around and the results are shown here. He cored about 350 fronts! You can see outrageous curly, bocote, tulipwood, incredibly figured bubinga and goncalo all hanging (curing). There's also about 150 or so ebony laying around somewhere. They're all cored, tapered and dipped in Resolute. It was a very productive week. And, who said good help is hard to find. :-)

From time-to-time we burn off excess woods. In this pile we have some Pink Ivory, Ironwood and a little Snakewood. We generate so much scrap that we'd need a separate building just to house all the off-cuts and scrap. We just cannot save it all. If you are ever fortunate enough to stop by and you hit us on a good day, we may load you up.Of course we cut effectively for squares, slabs and various other component parts but there's always waste. Much of what you see here is beyond use due to cracks or just being too narrow or any number of other reasons.

Here's a small sample of some wood we cut today. Here you'll see Olivewood, Pink or Red Ivory, Desert Ironwood and Snakewood squares which range from 1.5" to 3" square by all sorts of lengths. These are all highly figured. The Pink Ivory is curly! These are all keepers.

These cuttings are a small batch of others that have been sitting at our shop for about 8 years but never made it to the bandsaw until now. These will yield a bunch of dynamite turning squares. We don't advertise Ironwood as it's very expensive and we just don't get all that much to offer out. However, if you need some, feel free to email us for a quote. All squares are 1.5" to 3" square and 13" to 40" in length. We have them in all sizes. However, be prepared as they are not cheap. Just as a example: 1.5" square X 18" will run $50 to $250.

Here are a couple of more shots of the shops main entrance. You can see that we're bulging with inventory. That's a small shipment of Bloodwood in the front of the entrance along with pallets holding thousands of shaft wood squares. Our volume buying power insures the best prices and highest quality.

Here's about 10,000 shafts on pallets waiting to be processed. Granted we do sell a ton of shaft wood but there is no such thing as having too many shafts. We had an exceptional run of quality wood this past winter (2005-06) and as such we bought up a storm. We're happy with our purchase and have fabulous wood for our clients and our own use. We probably purchased at least 15,000 shafts this past winter.

Here's a partial shot of our back room where we keep all our dirty machines. All the dust is confined. We have dust ports and sometimes multiple ports to each machine as well as two air filters to help keep the place manageable. You can see some of our 6" metal dust runs here with 4" metal down tubing to the various machines.
